Mike Hollaway Custom Homes | The Process
| Our team of artisans, craftspeople, sales staff and office staff work with the homeowner to create a personalized vision of their dream home. Below are the usual steps in establishing a plan and construction of a new home. Each homeowner is unique, and therefore the process is customized to fit the needs of our prospective homebuyers. | |
♦
An initial meeting with one of our sales professionals will help us determine the general floorplan and basic living requirements you and your family will want and need. |
♦
You will be asked to furnish our team with a room-by-room list of your desires for your new home including finishes, size, function and any other information that will help us design your perfect plan. |
♦
An architect will draw a rough plan incorporating the ideas formed from the initial meeting and your “wish list”. |
♦
A second meeting will be scheduled to review the rough plan. |
♦
Upon approval of the rough plan, the architect will take the plan to ¼” scale, and we will form a construction budget and specifications for your home. |
♦
A third meeting will be scheduled to review the revised plan, pricing and specifications. |
♦
Upon agreement for the plans and specifications of the home, a contract will be written for the construction of the home. A $5,000 deposit is required at this time. |
♦
Time Frame to complete plans is approximately 6 weeks. |
♦
Permits, Architectural Control Approvals and engineering of the foundation and frame will take approximately two weeks from the date of receipt of the final plans. |
♦
Construction will begin following receipt of all permits and approvals. |
♦
A superintendent will be assigned to your project, and he will become your primary contact during the construction of your home. He will establish a weekly meeting, if desired, to answer any questions you may have and discuss any changes or additions you may wish to make during construction. Mike Hollaway, the sales staff and office staff are also available to answer any questions or concerns you may have during the construction of the home. |
♦
LLB Designs is the professional interior design firm that will assist in the selections of the finish out for your new home. You will be asked to make an appointment with them within a week or so of the signing of the contract to begin the selection process. |
♦
As the home nears completion, a walk-through will be scheduled with your construction superintendent. This will be your opportunity to identify any cosmetic repairs or items that are in need of repair prior to closing. |
♦
Within 7 days after the walk-through, you will close on your new home. |
